Beginners Guide to selling on eBay

eBay is still one of the quickest and easiest ways to make some money online. First of all, if you haven't been using eBay, you will need to sign up for a free account at eBay. Second you will need to open a Paypal account; it's free as well and eBay makes it difficult for you to use anything else but Paypal. If you haven’t used eBay before, I would recommend that you start out buying products first before you start selling just so you can get use to eBay’s system and build up your feedback rating as well. Okay, let’s start selling.

• What do I sell? First, start in your own home; do a little spring cleaning and start selling. But first do a little market research to make sure your product is sell able. Search for your product from the buy and browse categories from the main eBay page, click completed auctions on the left hand navigation bar. This will give you all of the general price ranges that the product is selling or it will tell you if it’s selling at all. Also, you can use eBay pulse to find out the hottest selling products on eBay. I use a product called Auction Yen that helps uncover highly targeted niches of products to sell on eBay. Be sure and read eBay’s top 10 selling tips .

• Log in and go to Sell either in My eBay or on the Main Page at top.

• After you pick a category you’ll then be asked to enter the title and description about your product. Be sure and include a picture unless it’s impossible. Not including a picture will stop potential customers from viewing your auction.

• Choose your options wisely. eBay will try and up sell you on a bunch of options that you don’t need. I always stick with the basics. Again, be sure that you include a picture.

• Shipping. Either make it free or relatively cheap. You can get free shipping supplies from eBay. Be sure to package the product correctly you don’t want an angry customer because of a damaged product.

• Have fun. Don’t beat yourself up if you don’t get it right the first time. Learn from your mistakes and before you know it, you will have a highly profitable eBay business on your hands. Please leave comments, questions, or suggestions.
